What Comic Garden collects, why we collect it, who else touches it, how long we keep it, and how you get rid of it.

Your account, your profile, your comics
Email and password to sign in, the profile details you choose to fill in, your date of birth for age verification, and everything you publish.
None, anywhere
No ad networks, no advertising SDKs, no tracking across other apps or websites. We do not share your information with advertisers.
Apple and Stripe handle the money
We never see or store your card number. Apple processes App Store subscriptions and Stripe processes web payments and creator payouts.
Scanned automatically before publishing
Images are checked by an automated moderation service to catch prohibited content. Section 7 explains how that works.
Your work is never training data
We do not use your comics to train machine learning models and we do not allow anyone else to do so through Comic Garden.
Settings, then Delete Account
Permanent deletion from inside the app. No email required, no waiting on us to approve it.
We do not sell your personal information. There is no version of Comic Garden where that changes without your consent.

This policy explains how Comic Garden ("Comic Garden," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information in the Comic Garden mobile application, on comicgarden.xyz, and in any related services (together, the "Service").
It applies to everyone who uses Comic Garden, whether you read comics, publish them, or both. It works alongside our Terms of Use and End User License Agreement, which govern your use of the Service.
Comic Garden is the controller of the information described here. Viewtopia Comic Book Co. is a separate publisher that distributes titles on the platform and does not receive your personal information as a result of that relationship.
When you upload a comic we store the image files along with the information that makes them work as a series: title, description, series name, issue number and title, season number, page and panel numbers, image type such as cover or panel, tags, content category, featured characters, contributor credits, character profiles and relationships, whether an image is premium, and search description text.
We also store comments, likes, saves, follows, messages, and creator letters you send through the Service.
If you earn money on the platform we store your referral code, referral relationships, referral earnings, royalty and commission balances, lifetime earnings, view totals, and the date your monetization unlocked. Tax and payout identity information is collected and held by Stripe rather than by us.
If you email support, submit a report, or appeal a moderation decision, we keep your message and our reply so we can resolve it and handle any follow up.
What is not here matters too. Comic Garden contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no cross application tracking. We do not build behavioral profiles and we do not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, because we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Apple. When you buy a subscription through the App Store, Apple processes the payment and tells us that an entitlement is active. We receive purchase and subscription status. We do not receive your payment card number, your Apple account credentials, or your billing address.
Stripe. Stripe processes web and non iOS subscription payments and handles creator payouts. We send Stripe your user identifier and the plan involved. Stripe collects and holds payment and payout details directly under its own privacy policy, and we do not receive your card or bank account numbers.
RevenueCat. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements. It receives your Comic Garden user identifier and your purchase and entitlement state from the App Store so the app knows what you have access to.
Comic Garden does not request camera access, location, microphone, contacts, or your calendar, and it does not collect that information.
Images you upload are sent to an automated moderation service operated by Anthropic before they are published, so that prohibited content is caught before it reaches readers.
The moderation request contains the image and our review instructions. It does not include your name, handle, email, or other account details. The provider processes the image to return a moderation result and does not use it to train its models.
The outcome of that check is stored with the upload, along with a moderation log entry when content is blocked or a review fails. If automated review blocks something you believe is allowed, you can appeal by emailing viewtopiastudios@gmail.com and a person will look at it.
We also review reported content manually. Human moderators can see the reported content, the report, and the account it belongs to.
We share information with service providers that operate parts of the Service on our behalf. Each receives only what it needs for its function, and each is bound to use it only for that purpose.
We may also disclose information where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to comply with a law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, to enforce our Terms of Use, to investigate fraud or abuse, or to protect the safety of any person. Reports of apparent child sexual abuse material are made to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as federal law requires.
If Comic Garden is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will give notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Account email covers things like confirming your address, resetting your password, safety notices, and important changes to the Service. You cannot opt out of these while you have an account, because they are how we reach you about your own account.
Marketing email is optional and off unless you turn it on. You can opt out at any time from your profile settings or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message.
Push notifications are off until you enable them. Turn them off in your device settings or in the app at any time.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal information on these bases:
Delete your account. Open Settings, then Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and associated data, subject to the retention rules in Section 12. You do not need to email us or wait for approval.
Edit your information. Your profile, bio, links, images, mature content preference, and marketing preference can all be changed in the app at any time. Posts remain editable after publishing.
Request a copy. Email viewtopiastudios@gmail.com and we will provide a copy of the personal information associated with your account.
Ask a question or make a complaint. Email viewtopiastudios@gmail.com. We respond to rights requests within 30 days, and we will tell you if we need longer.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right described here.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access your personal information, to correct it, to have it erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on it.
Exercise any of these by emailing viewtopiastudios@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority, though we would appreciate the chance to resolve it with you first.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted under that law.
Submit a request by emailing viewtopiastudios@gmail.com. We will verify your identity through the email address on your account before acting on it.
Comic Garden operates from the United States, and our service providers store and process information in the United States and other countries. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed there, where data protection law may differ from the law where you live.
Where required, transfers of personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom are made under Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.
We protect information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit, hashed password storage, access controls on our database, and restricted administrative access.
No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Use a strong and unique password, and tell us promptly at viewtopiastudios@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
Comic Garden is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, and we collect date of birth at registration to verify this.
The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete the associated information. If you believe a minor has created an account, email viewtopiastudios@gmail.com.
Changes. We will update this policy as the Service changes. For material changes we will give notice in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect, and we will update the version number and effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the revised policy.
